Baby Gifts Tips:

Lesson 6

Day 6 – Long Term Gifts

Welcome to the sixth day of the Baby Gifts Mini Course! We previously talked about the baby christening gifts, and the ease of thinking of a gift by simply acknowledging the event and the theme. In this course, we will talk about how you can make the gift more special, and this is through giving the baby gifts that he or she can use until she grows up.

Keepsakes are one of the most perfect gifts you can ever give. It is defined as something that commemorates a certain event. In the previous course, we talked about giving a bible as a christening gift.

That is the embodiment of a keepsake: something that is relevant to the event, which is christening, and at the same time, something that the baby will continue to use when he or she grows up – unless he or she parts with her Christian ways, or grows up unable to read.

Kidding aside, keepsakes don’t necessarily have to be specific to the event. It can be something passed on to the younger generation – a heirloom, so to speak. For instance, if you do not have a child of your own, and you are the guitarist in a band where one of the parents is also a member, you can pass on the guitar to your band-mate’s child.

Conversely, you may also need to keep track of the milestones and take note of them. They will provide you great ideas for what gifts to shower the kid with. For instance, you can give a keepsake box that keeps photos and whatnot that contains fond memories about the child. If you can, create the keepsake box yourself.

You may also have a keychain done. A wooden keychain with the baby’s nickname inscribed on it would be good, or perhaps a plastic one for durability. If you can, put in something that would remind the baby of something – such as the date and time when he/she first talked or walked.

Of course, you have to personalize the guitar so the child can really call it his/her own. This is another thing about keepsakes – they really have to be unique. Keepsakes should be a testimony to the joy of a specific event, as well as a dedication to the baby and no one else.

The bottom line is that one of the best gifts you can ever give is a keepsake. Why? It’s because keepsakes are something special that babies, when they grow up, will remember. Remember that keepsakes should be unique. Personalization and customization is very effective. We will talk about that in the next few courses, but first, let’s give you some ideas on great keepsakes in the next course. I’ll see you there!

Lesson 7

Day 7 – Montage

Welcome to the seventh day of the Baby Gifts Tips Mini Course! In the last course, we talked about how you can make your baby gifts more special through giving keepsakes. The core idea of keepsakes is uniqueness and long lasting. Today, we will talk about a few ideas for long lasting gifts.

Baby montages are excellent keepsakes. While these gifts are centered on the baby, they make the parents happier than they do the child, depending on how old the child is. Most times, the kid won’t really understand the idea behind the gift until later on.

However, montages can embody the core idea of good baby gifts. If a baby montage can center on all the milestones that a baby has gone through, then it makes for an excellent keepsake. These gifts have a theme, which is about the highlights of the kid’s early life, and it is a long lasting gift. What could be better than that?

Most people would usually opt for photo albums containing pictures of the kid during various events such as christening, birthdays, opening Christmas presents, playing with an Easter egg, and whatnot. When the kid grows up, he or she can look back to fonder times when he or she was too young to remember.

Besides photo albums, you can get creative with montages. You can take various photos of the kid, and place them beautifully in a single picture frame. You can also laminate them, attach strings to each picture, and bunch them at the top to make a little hanging ornament.

You may also cast handprints and footprints, or you can have a wooden hand/foot print made and turn them into a hanging mobile. Either that or you can make a keychain or pendant out of it. You may even carve a number that designates the age of the kid when his hand or foot was the same size as that of the wooden hand or foot print.

Use your imagination. Montages can come in countless forms, so there really isn’t a right or wrong way to do them. If you need some ideas, you can find some online. In fact, we will be talking about how to effectively find some ideas – if not the gifts themselves – online. I’ll see you in the next course!

Lesson 8

Day 8 – Dual Purpose of the Internet

Welcome to day seven of the Baby Gifts Tips Mini Course! We previously talked about montages and how they make great keepsakes. You may notice that I’ve been talking too much about keepsakes, but the reason why keepsakes are great gifts is the fact that they are unique, and mostly personalized.

Personalization is the first step towards uniqueness, and we will talk more about that in the next course. For today, we will take a look at how the internet can help you find the perfect gift. There are two ways that going online can help you. First, you are treated to countless choices in terms of baby gifts.

There are a lot of online shops that can help you find that gift that you need. The great thing about online shopping is that the items are often cheaper than what you can find in your local stores. When looking online for baby gifts, however, you have to know how to narrow your search.

First, there are baby gift stores. These stores offer a plethora of baby gifts, ranging from clothes and apparel to keepsakes and other long lasting items. You can look at these stores, and see if something interests you. If not, then at least find some ideas.

For instance, you see a keepsake box that could have been crafted better. You may want to look at baby keepsake shops. This is the second type of gift shop, only offering a more specific line of items – in this case, keepsakes. You may find a keepsake box that you would want to give to the kid in these shops.

If you still can’t find any, then you can create your own keepsake box. As you can see in this case, looking online will give you ideas for that perfect gift. If you can’t find it, it’s up to you to materialize it. But what if you don’t know how to create your own keepsake box?

This is another good thing about the internet. You can find tutorials on how to create keepsake boxes, as well as anything else. If you want to give a sweater, for instance, and you want it embroidered but you don’t know jack about embroidery, then you can go online and search for patterns and how to do them.

If you haven’t noticed yet, everything leans towards you customizing and personalizing the gift, whatever it may be. This makes the gift unique therefore more special. In the next course, we will talk more about customizing and personalization. I’ll see you there!

Lesson 9

Day 9 – Personally Customized

Welcome to the eight day of the Baby Gifts Tips Mini Course! We previously talked about how to find gifts online, but what I really wanted you to understand is how you can get great ideas for gifts online. Sure, you can purchase a really cool gift off of the internet since there are a lot, but nothing beats something that is personalized and customized.

There are online shops that offer personalization for their gift items, and most of them are very creatively done and are already unique. Still, it is better if you add your own personal touch to it. So if you can buy your items online, customize them further to make for even more unique gifts.

How do you customize? You can customize by adding your own spin on the gift. For instance, if you want to give a keepsake for a baby christening, you can purchase a keepsake box that looks like a book, and add some designs so it looks like a bible. Not only have you given a good gift – a keepsake – you also stayed true to the theme.

You can also customize a gift by personalization. Simply put, personalization is merely placing the recipient’s name on an item. This gives the baby a greater sense of ownership. You can inscribe, embroider, or carve the baby’s name onto the gift. Most times, a mere name placement makes a gift unique.

In the previous email, I mentioned putting in the nickname. It is actually better if you put in the baby’s nickname, especially if the kid has a really common name. If the parents drew up a unique nickname for their child, you can use that. If the child’s name is unique enough, then put that in instead.

One of the first things that a baby learns to understand is his or her name. By the time the kid learns how to read, he or she can then feel more attached to the gift that has his or her name on it. You may also take it a bit further by putting in an inspiring message or quote, or throwing in your personal message for the baby. A dedication can make the kid feel loved by you when he or she grows old enough to understand it.

The next and final course will reveal the “secret” to giving the best baby gift. I’ll see you there!

Lesson 10

Day 10 – The Secret to Giving the Perfect Gift

Welcome to the final day of our Baby Gifts Mini Course! We’ve covered a lot of things from day one, so we will not be ending this with you empty handed. In this final email, I am revealing the ultimate secret in giving the perfect baby gift. You’ll be surprised to know that the “ultimate secret” is no secret at all. You may have simply overlooked it.

Remember the things that I covered in the past few courses? First, there’s the keeping the parents in mind. Second, there’s thinking about something the baby will enjoy. Third, there’s keeping theme in mind. Fourth, there’s the thinking of gifts that aren’t easily outgrown. Fifth, there’s customizing and personalizing.

The secret is combining some, if not all, of the things that you’ve learned so far. All of those are guidelines so you can think of the perfect gift. Each of the courses sent to your correspond to an aspect that when put together, make the perfect gift. Think of these as pieces of a single puzzle.

If there’s a need to give someone’s baby a gift, there should be an occasion. If it is an occasion besides a birthday, then you can take note of the occasion and think of a gift relevant to the occasion. If the even is a general event, such as a birthday or Christmas, then you can look into making your gift as memorable as possible.

Here’s another secret that’s not so secret: a good gift is something that will be treasured for a long time. This is where keepsakes come in. They can be simple things such as reminders of significant events that happened in a baby’s life, or mementos of milestones that a baby has achieved.

We are back at the concept of “events” again. This is because the events during a baby’s life often feel much more special than whatever happens afterwards. For instance, a baby’s first steps only happen once in a lifetime. The first words a baby utters are the sweetest words the parents would feel.

The final secret to giving the best gift is giving the most unique gift. Finding a unique gift is impossible, but creating one is not. Personalizing the gift, even if it simply means embroidering the baby’s name on a piece of clothing, is the first step towards customization.

If you can’t create a baby gift, find gifts online. When you receive them, get to work and add your own flair on to them. If you have no skills in doing so, go back online and find some tutorials.

I hope you have learned a lot in this mini course. As you may have noticed, no specific gift has been mentioned here – merely tips. This is because the best gift that a baby could receive from you is one that you thought of yourself. Good luck and have a good one!
